Letting Go of “Old Tools”

This is a transcript of the video which has been edited for readability.

Today, I’m going to share with you an interesting story I heard about the importance of letting go. We all have things in our lives that have been of great importance to us, but sometimes life will need us to let go of these “tools” that no longer serve us. And our challenge is learning to let go and move on to better things.

When you move on with your journey, sometimes you have to let go of certain “tools” that carry great significance in your life.

The Power of Letting Go

This story is about a man who has to cross a river. What he does is he makes a boat and is able to successfully cross the river. Once he gets to the other side, he continues on his journey while carrying this boat. His boat carried great significance for him so he wanted to make sure he still brought it with him.

As he's walking, he sees a forest up ahead which he needs to enter. In that forest, the trees are packed so tightly together that he's no longer able to get through unless he lets go of his boat. But that boat served him and it helped him get through the river. He has difficulty letting go of his boat, but at the same time, he wants to continue on his journey.

So what does he have to do? And the answer is that he has to let go of his boat to continue on his journey.

In life, not everything that brought you somewhere will be what you need going forward.

Can You Let Go of Your Boat?

The reason I bring this story up is because sometimes, we get these tools, insights, and certain mindsets that help us achieve our goals. But at a certain point, we need to let those tools, mindsets, and beliefs go. There's a saying, "What got you here won't necessarily get you there." So going back to this man with his boat that he made to get across the river, for him to advance in his journey, he definitely needs to let go of his boat.

Similarly there may be things in your life that you need to let go of so that you can continue to advance and make progress in the journey of your life.

Having the right mindset before a ketamine infusion means letting go of some thoughts that no longer serve you.

You Need to Let Go to Fully Heal

For our ketamine patients, it is important that they have the right mindset before they start their infusions. The treatment starts before they step inside the clinic. This is why we encourage our patients to learn to let go of any preconceived notions or expectations of how you think the infusion will go. These thoughts may have gotten you somewhere before, but starting off with a clean slate is important if you want to truly receive the benefits of the treatment.
